What Fishing Fly Should I Use In April In Pa?

Most of the trout you’ll find in PA are stocked, and April is a pretty cold month for anything hatching. However, I’ve been on the water on the opening day when little black stoneflies were hatching. Even if there are flies hatching, the stocked trout may not be clued into them yet; in all my years in PA, late May was when the “switch flipped” and the stocked trout really keyed in on acquatic insects. Don’t fret though, with some black or brown wolly buggers and some streames like the Mickey Finn or Grey Ghost, you should be able to land some early season stocked PA trout on the fly rod.

Why Should There Be A Tax On Salt Water Fishing While The State Doesn’t Pay To Keep The Fish Available?

To answer about offering an alternative: First of all the fish that enter Long Island Sound are not stocked fish as they are in the inland waters. The government does not control how many fish come into or go out of the Sound. There are funds already in place to help clean the Sound, so it will stay safe for recreation. It will cost the state more to enforce this tax. There would have to be patrols that would make random checks on fishermen asking for proof of the paid taxes. Worst of all, they will disrupt the quiet that is needed so the fish aren’t scared away. Little by little this state keeps choking its residents with the highest cost of living in the nation and now they want to pull the noose tighter. What do you suggest?
