From boat or shore? Aksakovskaya fishing for bream. From the boat to the donkey.
Closer to autumn, the conditions for any fishing change. These changes are especially noticeable on small rivers. In a warm summer dawn, it used to be anchored along the edge of the coastal strip of grass and, one might say, a fishing spot was found. Thickets of egg capsules and hornwort are common companions of shallow waters on the slope into the pit. This is understandable: in the shallows, water warms up better and is saturated with sunlight. And if the place is located right next to the river bed, then the water here usually goes around and this stretch is most often quite deep and rich in fish.
From boat or shore?
Fishing from a boat in autumn can be more effective than from the shore, since it is easier to find access to a hole and furrow-hollows from the boat among even depths. Here most often fish keep and make their morning and evening exercises for feeding.
From boat to donka
For fishing from a boat to a donk, an onboard fishing rod is preferable to a float rod, if you stand in a rather strong current. The meter rod is equipped with a spinning reel, a nodding guard and a sliding sinker, behind which a 1-2 m long underbrush winds in streams of water. Two or three leashes with hooks No. 7-8 of domestic numbering are usually tied to the undergrowth. From the other side, you can lower the feeder with branded bait or prepared according to your own recipe. It can be a porridge made from ground boiled peas and millet with the addition of feeder bait, cake, ground lightly roasted seeds, toasted bread crumbs, also ground. For viscosity, you can add porridge from oatmeal (bait recipes).
But it is better to install a feeder feeder weighing about 40-50 grams on the side donk. For fishing in a strong current, a sliding feeder weighing about 100-150 g is required.
Fishing can be passive, that is, it consists of contemplating a nervously shaking gatehouse in anticipation of a bite, or, using a heavy jig, looking for fish at different limits and bottom reliefs. To do this, the jig is pushed downstream with short jerks, and then also pulled back by jerks. Above a heavy jig, you can tie a light plastic, white or colored, as well as luminous. The weight of the main heavy jig should be selected so that it does not rise with the current, but could move slightly under its influence. A donk with a sliding lead can work in the same mode, and the fishing will already be more dynamic. With a smooth swing of the fishing rod, a pull-jerk is made, the sinker with underbrush and leashes moves to the boat. And then falls back. The bite often occurs on the rise of the bait or after it has stopped.
Aksakovskaya fishing for bream
There are lovers of classic Aksakov’s bream fishing, where you can sit on a cozy beach surrounded by weeping willows, pickles and elms. But in autumn, when fish often leave the shores, a float oud can sometimes bring only snotty ruffs and perches. To toss the tackle to a drop in a hole near the opposite bank or to a distant shallow, still greening grass, it will take running tackle… Depending on the “caliber” of this sliding rig, it is now also called Bologna, and in a heavier version – match. All its difference from a conventional float rod is that it is equipped with a spinning reel and a sliding float. The float is not attached tightly to the fishing line, but moves freely on it, resting only on a rubber knot or other stop at the level of the intended depth. The casting range is achieved by the good operation of the spinning reel, a relatively thin line and some weighting of the tackle, that is, with a heavier sinker or, in some cases, by loading the float itself. This is in a simpler way. But match fishing has its own differences and features of rigging: heavy floats called “wagler”, special match reels, rods and heavy sets of sinkers. The same applies to Bolognese fishing, where floats with a long and thick antenna are attached to the fishing line using a tube mounted in the body of the float. Such an attachment protects the float from breaking the attachment with a strong strike, especially if fishing is taking place in a strong current. And such cases are not so rare when the float is attached to the fishing line with the help of a ring mounted in the body of the float. A blind float mount is preferable in any running tackle, since the tackle in this case is more controllable than with a sliding float. Sliding floats are used only when the depth at the point of fishing exceeds the length of the rod. This rule applies to all sliding rigs, from the simplest home-made to modern “long-range” match gear.
