How to properly mount a floating boilie and remove “blank” bites? Basic rules to improve the performance of bites.
Beginner anglers are often faced with the problem of “blank” bites when fishing with boilies. The signaling device beeps timidly, the line stretches slightly, but the long-awaited locomotive is still missing. This situation suggests that there is fish at the fed point, it is interested in the nozzle, but refuses to bite. Numerous underwater footage, which can be seen on the Internet, often captures a carp taking a boilie with a hook and spitting it out without being detected. At this time, the angler hears that the bite alarm has worked and immediately quieted down. The reason for this is incorrect installation of the boilie. It would seem that it could be simpler: I drilled a boilie, put a stopper through it with an awl and catch it. But it’s not that simple. In carp fishing, the smallest details are important. The correct presentation of the bait is the key to successful fishing.
Correct installation of the floating boilie
For installation we use a drill, a mounting awl, a boilie stopper.
We will mount the boilie on a leash with a rig-ring. A plum floating boilie with a diameter of 12 mm is used. Hook on a leash number 6. This is the limit value, if the boilie were 14, then the hook needs at least the eighth number, 16 boilies – the tenth hook, and so on. First, use a drill to make a hole in the boilie.
The drill must be sharp enough so that the core to be drilled comes out in large pieces.
A blunt drill can break the boilie. Then a mounting needle is threaded through the resulting hole,
clings to a loop on a leash,
closes and stretches through the boilie.
A stopper is placed in the loop and the boilie is pulled towards the stopper.
When installing the boilie, it is important to observe the following rules
The length of the hair should be such that the mounted boilie is 2-3 mm above the hook, and when it is turned to the tip, it touches it.
Boyle shouldn’t move through the hair this is hindered by the hinge knot inside it. If the leash material is thin enough and the boilie can move along the hair, then an additional silicone stopper should be placed under it. The position of the rig-ring, in the absence of a silicone tube, must be selected so that the boilie dipped into the water is at an angle of about 45 degrees to the hook. The floating boilie should be kept a short distance from the bottom. Usually it is 2-2.5 cm. For this purpose, you can put a small lead pellet on the leash. After mounting the boilie, the leash should be lowered into the water and, if necessary, adjust the presentation. If everything is done correctly, then the effectiveness of the bites should increase.
Experiment with NHNCH.
